Yeah, they could probably have given her makeup or maybe contacts or something. So even if an audience doesn't think she's super pretty, they can tell there's something supernatural about her.

I'm still mostly confused about why the books made Beauxbatons an all-girls school for no reason.

I haven't read the books in a loooooonnnnng time, but I don't think Beauxbatons was an all girls school in the books. Neither was Durmstrang an all guys school.

It wasn't. Parvati Patil danced with a Beauxbatons guy at the ball, and they mention a Durmstrang girl. It makes no sense they'd change it.
