(Anonymous) 2018-05-03 12:20 am (UTC)(link)I would think there is a lot more OP is looking for in representation than just characters not having sex. Like dealing with social situations where everyone is talking about who they're attracted to or who they've slept with...I think I would feel alienated and want to connect with others who feel the same and would definitely love to see a chapter I could identify with. Or a coming of age story about discovering and accepting asexuality, if not the main character (though it should be because that would be a great and new thing to see and I would be first in line to watch it) then at least a close friend of the MC, someone whose story gets some actual screen time.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-03 04:17 am (UTC)(link)As an asexual person, I can tell you there are a lot of social pitfalls that crop up that could be depicted on screen.
Ever play Fuck, Marry, Kill? I break out in a cold sweat every time because I have no idea what criteria I should be using for Fuck. I just pick the other two first and go with whoever's left over.
I have a male friend who comments about me having sex fantasies about any actor I say I find attractive, no matter how many times I point out that finding someone aesthetically pleasing isn't the same thing as finding them sexually attractive.
I tried to come out to my two closest friends once, and one of them told me I wasn't functioning the way God intended.
tl;dr -- there are plenty of ways to represent asexuality besides just sitting around not having sex.
