Well... Sherlock Holmes. Original canon and the Moffat version. He'll occasionally state that sex and romance aren't his thing, but mostly he just gets on with his life, with occasional flashes of (non-sexual) flirting.

Except audience and fanficcers include a *lot* of people who want that to be teh gay and assertively read it that way, and fic it that way.

Canon can be subtle or explicit, and it doesn't really matter - the audience is going to go for what scratches their itches.
