Can people with colostomy bags still poop? Like, does the bag redirect all the poop to the bag, or does some of it still make it out the normal way?

There are different surgeries so the answer will be different for each.

My friend has what he calls a "dead end" and will only pass mucus from the rectum as it's not connected to the rest of the bowel.
