I am definitely a Goldilocks in look for that just right size fandom. Too small and I feel deflated that there isn't more attention (or any attention) on my fics. Medium sized is good but there's still a high chance that my rare pair (which is all I ever end up shipping) has any other person in it. Too large and there are antis and too much fic to actually find anything. My fic still doesn't get attention as it's immediately buried in the mass.

I just want a fandom with enough people who like what I like but I can also slip in something weird without them realizing it's me.

There's some medium sized video game fandoms--large enough that there are active readers, small enough that readers are willing to give a large variety of fic a try! Fallout and Mass Effect are both pretty welcoming!
