I'm so glad I'm not one of those pathetic losers that can only stick to one brand. It feels good to love both DC and Marvel universes.

Maybe the reason that people don't love the DC universe is less because they're brand zombies, and more because the DC movies are mostly bad

DA but to be fair MCU films are hardly masterpieces themselves. MCU films just have the fortune to have been engineered to be hyperpalatable like a bacon cheeseburger or a plate of chili cheese fries, whereas the DC films are just kind of flaccid all around.

You don't have to be a masterpiece to be better than a DCEU movie, and I say this as someone who liked BvS.

I hope the DCEU can get their act together, because I really do like their heroes more.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Critically and audience why, most MCU movies ARE masterpieces for blockbusters.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
IA but still, that's a significant difference, you know

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I just don't think it's anything for either side to be smug about is all, lol.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I think MCU has the right to be pretty damn smug about their box office success.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like things just because they are or aren't a commercial success, so...

Kinda hard to fail when you're shilled by Disney and have popular actors in them.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol. Go back to Reddit.

But you do know almost NONE of the main actors in the MCU were popular before they became part of the MCU? And by shilled, do you mean...backed monetarily? All movies are. And Disney has plenty of stinkers.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

Only Redditors think that it's weird to praise one of the most popular film studios ever for creating a popular film?

Seems like damning the films with faint praise if the best you can say in their defense is nyeh nyeh they're popular. Of course they are popular. They were designed to be popular, and not necessarily to be good.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-10 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, it is the use of 'Disney shills'. That is a common thing for redditors to yell because they are mad at how popular Disney is. I bet that person is on /movies a lot.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-11 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
>go back to reddit

lol

(Anonymous) 2018-05-11 10:46 am (UTC)(link)
You're so right! Nothing that's sold in large numbers is ever bad. That's why EL James and Michael Bay have the right to be pretty damn smug about their successes - there's obvious talent behind there!

(Anonymous) 2018-05-11 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there is also the fact the movies have REVIEWED WELL.
