Yeah, my error, I thought the comment I responded to was to another comment and not the OP's secret.

What do you think they said? I thought that they said that they didn't want to tell their coworker that they were fannish, because then the coworker might mistakenly believe that they like the DC movies as well as the Marvel movies, and the coworker might expect them to go and see the DC movies together (and presumably discuss them together) which OP does not want.
