Cheap foods are fatty. Straight up. I need fuel to live, and I can buy Hamburger Helper for a week or two, including meat, on $40. For that amount I could eat healthy... for a couple of days. Combine that with, personally, being disabled and walking and things that move my joints not being a thing I can do a lot of or people too busy working multiple jobs because you need to make ends meet.
