There was an interview:

(Anonymous) 2018-05-17 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
“I believe a woman should praise the man, the king,” Khaled explained. “If you’re holding it down for your woman, I feel like the woman should praise. And the man should praise the queen — but my way of praising is ‘How was dinner?’ ‘Do you like the house you’re living in?’ ‘Do you like the clothes you’re getting?’ ‘I’m taking care of your family, my family.’”

Angela Yee jumped in, “So you’re saying you don’t go down?”

Khaled responded, “Nah, never,” and added “It’s different rules for men.”

So "praise" = oral sex?

Gross.

I mean, if you're into oral sex as praise (and most men are), that's fine. But if you don't think that women can, do, or should get oral sex ad praise or as a "favor", that's gross.

I think for a lot of men, a woman going down on them is like the second ultimate vanilla-standard-sexual-practices sexual power trip (first being anal). I don't think everything is a double standard, but this is /defnitely/ a double standard plain and simple when a guy on the flipside will not go down or accept anything done to his body that isn't putting his dick in something. I'm not saying he should let his wife put a finger in his ass if he's not down for that, but it's a huge sexual blindspot for both men and women when you only experience putting your dick in a thing (man) or getting dicks put in you (woman) as valid uses of your sexy time.

If a guy is only into x and y, and a woman is only into x and y, good for them. But it's rarely that black and white...

Wait, I'm ranting. I'll cut my rant off here. /rant

Agreed. This is a good comment.

I may be reading too much into this, but it seems like he's paying for everything and she's into him for the money? If it's that kind of relationship, and he expects all relationships to be that way, I guess him expecting to only get what he wants is unsurprising.

Not trying to slut shame or anything, just saying getting no oral sex seems like a minor issue if the other person is buying them a house. It's a trade-off I think most people would make.

I think while you can interpret his comments to mean that this is how he sees women and relationships, you can't necessarily say the same thing for his wife. We're not hearing from her, mind you - we're only hearing his take on it. I'm not inclined to give much credit to a guy who thinks that being a male income earner entitles you to oral sex, but women shouldn't get any because being financially supported is the same as sexual reciprocation.

In fairness, if he's Muslim, women giving sex in return for financial support from their husbands is explicitly spelled out as How Things Work. (Also, the angels supposedly will curse a woman who turns her husband down for sex.) Women having the obligation to obey because men have "been given" power over them as well.
