I like when the hero is super conflicted and reluctant to see the villain's potential to be redeemed, and even though the villain loves the hero they don't want to be redeemed, but the hero still feels compassion for them anyways because the hero is just that much of a good person.

Nah, I don't ship het.

What I wanted for them was for them to somehow switch sides, but I think Dark!Rey was never really on the table unfortunately.

I am just so glad there is, like, one other fan outside my circle of friends that understand that there was never even the hint of Dark!Rey -- yes, Rey was determined and sneaky, but only to SAVE Ren, to convince him and pull him to her side. There was never any textual evidence of anything else.

Well, I didn't ship het before either.

I get you though; I was really hoping that Rey would switch side in TLJ. That might have made her actually interesting.
