I agree that his plan was stupid, but I feel like that was...kind of the point?

Like it sets him up in opposition to the heroes; Thanos is utterly convinced that "my way is the only way to solve this problem" that he won't even consider other options, whereas the heroes continually say "no, there HAS to be a better way to solve this problem that doesn't involve sacrificing lives".

I feel like getting bogged down in the actual feasibility of his plan is beside the point, really.

Also, I'm not entirely convinced the Infinity Gauntlet had the power to change reality to the degree that everyone has enough resources. Granted, the MCU did a piss-poor job of establishing the power of the Infinity Stones, but "merely" killing off half the universe completely destroyed the gauntlet. So IDK if it was actually capable of rewriting reality to the degree that the countless species of sentient life throughout the ENTIRE UNIVERSE had the all the resources (food, shelter, living space, etc) they need to survive.
