I intellectually understand there are...not so intellectual viewers who think Thanos had anything even close to approaching "a point," and there are viewers on the sociopath scale who think he's cool, but...is that a Real Opinion? I only ever had communications with fans and mundanes who thought he was nuts.

That said, you are right in that the movie spent way too much time on a villain who was bananas without stating more clearly just how bananas he was -- that was The Worst. (I like Loki, for example, because the narrative is explicit about him being The Bad Guy in earlier movies.)
