Almost all comic book characters are way beefier than their actor counterparts... at least depending on the artist since comics have so many different writers and artist.

I guess it's harder to find a suitable actor that is willing to go through the effort of bulking up that much.

It isn't so much about the comic book physique, but the impression I formed that didn't match the movies. The current movie-Deadpool feels a lot more like Spidey than how I imagined Deadpool would be. Of course this has nothing to do with the comic book canon, just my own expectations.
