You know, I hate this attitude.

Their opinion is changing. Who gives a crap why it's changing? It is. They're moving toward a better position, where they can understand what you're trying to convey, and you're chastising them for it? WTF do you think that'll accomplish, besides making you feel good about yourself for half a second?

BTW, why even bother trying to tell them that all cultures are beautiful? After all, if they grow or change because you've told them that, well, they'll still have already had the wrong opinion, right?

Because the reason why can be racist in itself. In this case it is. Good that they are changing, yes. But that they are only changing because of a book and feel the need for another book to see another culture (that is really many cultures) as good says they have along way to go.

That's how books about other cultures work. That's what books about other cultures are for. Good grief!

It's just...weird that they can't find beauty in African cultures until someone proves it to them with a decent book. The whole thing is just weirdly phrased from "I started to like India at least a little" (were they actively hating India until then?) to "I'll [have the attitude] down pat" (like they won't actually believe every culture is beautiful but they'll be able to imitate someone who does?) Idk, I read the secret a few times and my reaction was just "What the fuck?" Like these are weird things to be learning after the age of six I guess.
