Fandom tropes irl

What fandom tropes, kinks, or cliches do you love in fic...but just doesn't work for you irl?

For me, I love fics where guys come in their pants because "It's so hot/They just can't take it!" But url, I think that be really messy to deal with and probably super embarrassing for the dude...

I'm not really into noncon, so I'd have to say dubcon, because "safe, sane, and consensual" IRL.

Dubcon is so weird for me because if it's done exactly "right" it hits my buttons just so, but it's such a bizarrely fine line for me that it can tip over from hot to NONONO or vice versa like that.

Ayart

Yeah, that's kinda how I feel about it, too.

Anything super kinky. My fandom kinks in general are strong versions of what I like in real life. I would not be into full on BDSM in real life, but it is super hot in fic. I also don't think hurt/comfort sex translates well into RL. Like, I don't think I'd want sex after some super traumatizing, horrifying situation. But in fic? Give me, please.

So yes, I'd say generally, my kinks are strong versions of RL things. I wouldn't like the strong things in RL, but they often represent something that I would like in RL.

tw: rape, csa

I love love love noncon. It's basically all I write and read. If someone is consenting, I don't like it as much. I've been raped and molested in real life and I worry that those experiences and the grooming I received as a child have made me feel this way about media. But I can't help myself. Ah well...

If it worries you, you could visit a therapist or counselor and ask them. It does kinda sound like you use it as a way to work through your experiences. I think quite a few people do that. In your place I might visit the counselor just to be sure that you're doing that in a healthy way.

Oh I do see a psychiatrist and we've worked on these issues some. But the underlying groundwork still remains the same so I guess I have further to go. I just imagine myself in the raped person's perspective and that makes me happy? Or at least fulfilled. So I guess I'm using it as a way to work through myself, but I worry that it's in a negative way. :(

I like reading about dominant women in fiction but I'm not all that confident sexually. Maybe in a relationship with someone I knew well and trusted, if they were into it. I think I'd die trying to bring up in conversation that I think strap ons are kind of hot, so I don't know how that would even be figured out. I'd just cease to exist out of mortification.
