No shit.

And it's not much of an excuse that she's meant to be some untrained newbie when the whole point is that, wow, wtf, how come this chorus girl has such a well-trained voice, on top of natural talent? (Spoiler alert - the stalker in the walls has been giving her singing lessons). So no, she's not going to sound like a milquetoast pop starlet.

It's not a classical opera though. It's a modern musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The majority of the singing does not require operatic performance, because they're just cheesy love ballads written in the 80s.

DA - Imo that one is the most 80s ballad of them all.
