Imma add something I never see written - back when I was 16, if I dressed like that, I would have been PISSED if you didn't sexualize me.

I've worn dresses like that to family weddings. Wish you could see the stuff my generation wore to go clubbing.

(And yes, I am a perfectly normal woman, haven't been abused, it's not a result of past trauma, I don't even have sex that much. Many 16-year-olds like to look sexy. They don't mind if you find them sexy as long as you're silent and at a safe distance).

This. At 13 I looked the same way I do now (at 34). I dressed a LOT more provocatively at 16 than I do now for sure. I wanted people to think I was hot. I wanted them to look. Not touch, or comment creepily, but look. To find me attractive.

Also I love people saying, "NO ONE THOUGHT SHE WAS SIXTEEN UNTIL THEY SAW THAT TWEET!"

I saw no tweet, and yet when I watched the movie I pegged her character as a teen solely on the interactions with her brother/mother. She ACTED like a teen, even if she looked maybe a bit older, but maybe because I am used to teens upselling themselves as 20-somethings with makeup/etc?
