The thing is, when I say I want more of this or that kind of fic, I mean I want to read it, not to write it. Even if it is something that is within my writing capabilities.

Whenever I try to read my own fics I always end up looking for mistakes or things that could have been phrased in other ways, and generally not having any fun at all. Not to mention that I already know what's going to happen next, and sometimes even remember parts near-verbatim even if it's been years since I wrote the damn thing.

Honest question, when you say you want more of whatever kind of fic, what are you expecting to happen?

That some author will be inspired to write it. What do you think?

Nayrt but as a writer, I'm always interested to hear what readers are looking for. Sometimes it does inspire me. Other times it makes me realize there's an audience for a fic idea I had, but haven't written and then I'll be more likely to write it. People voicing their wishes for what they'd like to see harms no one and can be a potential help. I don't understand this frankly rude insistence that it shouldn't be done.

Nothing at all. It's like if I say "I wish it would stop raining". I know it isn't going to change a thing, I'm just sharing what's on my mind.

I mean, I guess there is a remote chance that someone will see my post and get inspired, but that's about as likely as winning the lottery or something.
