I do write the fics I want to read. It's just I would like there to be more than one fic which I wrote myself.

yes, this, exactly, let me show you my multiple small fandoms where literally the only canon compliant longfic that isn't a bunch of unconnected porn prompts masquerading as a single story or the most ridiculous Mary Sue Bangs The Protagonist is the ONE THAT I WROTE, I am not even kidding.

This.

Plus, having more of the type of fic you're longing for available can also mean more opportunity to communicate with other people who write for the pairings/write the types of stories you love. I will happily write as much fic as I can for my favorite pairings that don't get as much love in a fandom, but anytime I can find somebody else who writes for and loves that pairing, too, it's nice :). I can gush about that pairing to somebody else who likes it, too :).

And having other fans writing about the types of pairings or types of stories one likes and want to see more of can allow for opportunities for those fans to bounce story ideas off each other, or offer to help beta each other's fics, or stuff like that, and voila, more potential fics to read as a result.

Yeah, same. Like, I enjoy writing and posting fics, but sometimes I just want to sit back and read them too.
