If people are cosplaying for the right reason - for fun, and to have fun with their hobby - then I'm sure they wouldn't laugh at you at all. As long as you're enjoying yourself and you're trying, that's something you have in common with them, and that's something you can all get excited about!

...that being said, though, yea. A lot of people consider cosplay to be like some sort of geeky professional modeling.

I don't know I'm probably a giant hypocrite, but I set high standards for MYSELF, not others.

I'm sorry but that's an incredibly shallow thing to think.
Either you think you're an amazing artist who can't stand having someone better than them, or you think you suck. That's just stupid.

If you have friends who are 'better at drawing than you are', and they are really your friends they really wouldn't give a crap that you're 'inferior' and would more than likely not even have that thought cross their minds.

Have some more confidence D: That's no reason to not want someone as a friend.

Now if they were shoving it in your face that they were 'better than you' than maybe they're not worth it.

I mean, the very fact that Seishirou didn't kill Subaru at the end of Tokyo Babylon proved that he loved Subaru, as well as allowing Subaru to kill him in X (since Seishirou's mother told him that he would be killed by his most precious person... or something Clamp-y to that effect.)

Probably one of the best Love/Hate pairings EVER.

Er, what I meant to add to this statement was that he did beat the crap out of Subaru and emotionally torture him until his dying words... he'd been resisting all along.

122. My entire life I've always preferred/fangirled over/whatever the female characters in any book, TV show or movie, with only a few exceptions. Heroes is the one show where I absolutely CAN'T STAND most of the female characters. I'm thrilled that Angela's becoming a series regular, and I have hope for Monica and Elle (though she won't be around much longer I expect) but otherwise? I can't stand them. I can't speak for the fandom as a whole, but I can tell you right now that there's a good reason why the girls of Heroes get so much less love. The Heroes writers just can't seem to get the female characters right. It sucks, but it doesn't make me a misogynist for thinking Maya is the worst character ever and being bored to tears by Niki and Claire.

139. Written well, it doesn't. Though that usually means its angsty as fuck and often includes violence, torture and death.

I can see how getting pegged as a Mylar fan for liking Sylar could be annoying... I'm surprised to hear about it though.

To me it was obvious from the very moment Nagisa said 'Do you like this town?' the very first sentence in her very first appearance. It would have been obvious long before that if I had actually done research on the game and realized that the After Story was hers.

All other ships were doomed from the start. And I didn't mind, because I fell in love with Tomoya/Nagisa so much that I'm actually contemplating not watching the Tomoyo-arc OVA. D: Wtf, self.

122 - Okay, I am sick of people crying "OMG MISOGYNY" every time some fans are unhappy with a female character. Can you not accept that some people thing Maya was a ridiculously one-dimensional character who, in many people's opinions, added absolutely nothing to the show whatsoever? It has nothing to do with whether she's a woman or not - I think her brother was just as much a mistake as she was. In fact, I think most of the new characters they introduced in season 2 were huge mistakes. There are plenty of female characters in the show that I adore. Misogyny? I think not.
