105 - You know what, same here. He just looked so good tied up, especially when his hair got all shaggy.

107 - I thought Ohba said she didn't even think people would read DEEP things into it.

116 - I'm pretty girly, but it just crossed the line. The chanting, putting the girls into fapworthy outfits, shitting on Yuna's character and making her into a 'strong woman', sorry, don't buy it.

130 - YESSSSSSS. Holy shit I loved the guy too. But I beg to differ, the superior book was that huge anthology about Alien form!Ax. They sounded so pretty and graceful and blue.

Plus? I think the whole freaking plot of the game just completely CHEAPENED what was so beautiful and meaningful about FFX. *shrugs* I know people don't agree with me, but I liked X's bittersweet ending. It still makes me cry, even to this day. X-2 just seemed so ... I dunno the right word. It just didn't fit and it rubbed me the wrong way.

Oh god I totally agree, the ending was perfect to me as well, I bawwww'd a shedload of tears to it. Yuna was done, developed as a character, Tidus developed as a character, the whole parallel universe thing with X-2 seemed pulled out of S-E's ass. I think it definately rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way, and it was like, it was trying to introduce a buttload of new players who don't know the plot of FFX.

Exactly. If they wanted NEW FANS, they should've just made a completely NEW GAME. I didn't like the bastardization of Yuna and Rikku, because I ADORED those girls in FFX. So so much. But they were NOT the same girls in X-2. Completely different characters. And that's why I think a lot of people who are BIG FANS of FFX (like me) didn't like X-2. Because it didn't feel the same.

Yeah, now that you mentioned Rikku I just got reminded of my RAGE when I played the game - her energetic but still vulnerable character from the first game was blown way out of proportion. And Paine? She seemed like an add-on to give the fanboys a dominatrix type in replacement of Lulu.

I always thought that in FFX, while Rikku was peppy and energetic, she was still quite mature and had a good head on her shoulders. They totally obliterated that in X-2, and it just irritates the crap outta me. And don't even get me started on Yuna. That is NOT the same character. Not even CLOSE.

T-that voice...For Yuna...I thought, even the voice actress feels this is forced.

Gah, I know! I mean, I was one of those people who was never real annoyed with Yuna's voice in FFX (it wasn't great, but it was NOT as awful as everyone makes it out to be -- I thought it worked well for the character) ... but in X-2, it's just ... ridiculous. No. Do not want.

I liked X-2 better than X.

Haha, fair enough. I just happen to feel the exact opposite. But it's all good! XD

lol I get flak from fandom all the time, but I found far more characters to care about in FFX-2 than I did X. The only ones I cared about at all in X were Auron and Rikku, and then one died anyway, so I was like... well, eff. And then X-2 came along and I was like WOW CHARACTERS THAT DON'T SUCK. And Yuna actually has a personality!! WOW. And the battle system was 500x better, cause I got bored with X after 2 minutes of wow... seriously? bad guys made to fit members of my party that's so... lame.

BUT we agree on a ship, so really... that's total win. :D

You've got me totally interested in the whole Draco/Ginny thing. And this Ginny-as-a-Slytherin idea is EPIC WIN AND ILU FOR IT.

I haven't played X-2, because I am completely content with the ending of FFX and I don't want the story to continue after that. :<

Oh, I don't think you're missing anything. lol I said it somewhere else on here, that if they're going to make a sequel, I think it should ADD TO the story. But X-2 doesn't do that. It doesn't do ... anything. Except annoy. ;)

And besides, if you watch the little clip AFTER the credits roll in FFX, you clearly see Tidus swimming up to the surface. To me, that means that he got to go back. That's enough closure for me! I should've stayed away from X-2. Silly me, thinking it might actually enhance the plot. ;)

One of my roomies, who enjoys X-2, has told me that if anything, she thinks I might like how it fills in some of the history of Spira. (I like listening to Maechen talk, so...)

But idk. I can cheerfully throw myself into a game with an amazing battle system but a shitty plot and annoying characters for hours on end sometimes, but then I hear that the music also sucks and go ".....oh god I can't do it." XD

What, mking her a stereotypical 'strong woman'? Although Yuna was a strong female character in the first game despite her stuttering problem.

Yeah, a stereotype of a 'strong' character - I mean to say her personality developed into a strong woman in the first game, and that was very satisfying - X-2 seemed to be undermining that, imo.

They went from one stereotype to another, but at least the original Yuna did have a lot of strength in her own way.
