the release clutter isn't all Disney's fault, some of those other movies had their scheduling change around too, but yeah, I def agree either keeping up the december trend or at LEAST shooting for May 4th would have been better

who's actually remembering the original release date all these decades later? May the 4th is the day the vast majority of the fanbase actually thinks of as Star Wars Day now

I don't mean the original release date. I mean the George Lucas-era Star Wars movies in general. Even the prequels were released in May.
