I recently went on vacation with my sisters, who I hardly ever get to see. I thought it would be great to bond.

Now I just miss them more!

At this point, I just accept that if I really love a show or book or movie, it inevitably means that it's either going to be commercially disappointing or widely hated. 100% guaranteed.

I've spent real world money on a pet site. It was gift money too. And there were plenty of practical things I could have bought. But I spent it on my pretty pets.

I spent some money on that dragon game like two years ago. I popped in a twenty every few months, but to be fair, I was putting lots of hours into it so I think giving a little back to a free game is not only okay but the nice thing to do.

I think it's probably really easy to get addicted to those things though, so use caution!

I've bought some of the store-bought mounts and pets on WoW, but tbf I do play that game a lot and make use of the ones I got(bar the sky-goat thing, I still don't know what kind of impulse purchase that was).

Damn it. I watched a couple of episodes of Riverdale to appease my friend who loves it and I do like parts of it and might watch more.

Our opinions on it are still very different and I am here for murder mysteries and dysfunctional families, but fuck me Archie is so boring. He reminds me of that Twilight douchecanoe. I don't care which teenager is dating which other teenager.

Daddy Skeet Ulrich is fine as fuck tho. Would bang.

Riverdale is great and perfectly stupid and insane and I love it

Def agree that the love triangles aren't - in and of themselves - that interesting but there's enough other stuff to make it worth watching the show I think

I agree - Archie is boring and while I enjoyed season one mostly, season two is really annoying. I haven't finished it.

I binged watched Legends of Tomorrow over the weekend because I wanted to see what all the bi rep fuss was about, and what I got was the stupidest parts of Arrowverse meets Doctor Who but without the wangst.

The only bright part was Snart, who was like Snape with an American accent able to insert a sneer into every spoken line, and he got bumped out.

I freaking love Snart, which is a pain because season 1 is a hot mess. Season 3 is where they finally find their footing (by which I mean no longer giving a damn. Save the world by starting a religion around a furby knockoff!)

Yeahhhhhhh, I mean, I miss it too, but I can also understand why that changed

We really kind of proved that we're not capable, as a society, of handling comments sections with the class and dignity that they require

I've lost all interest in the current TV shows. Two years ago I still managed to watch the occasional first season, but now I quit watching everything after one or two episodes.

Maybe it's due to the fact that there are now so many new series airing all the time that there's no reason to give a mediocre show a second chance.

I hate that I can't bond with anyone IRL over fandom stuff. Granted, it's probably my fault because I feel creepy for trying to befriend anyone younger than me, but my fandoms also don't attract a lot of fans either. I either have to be into something super popular (whether or not I really care for it) or do without fandom (unless it's on the internet, of course).

Back in my early days of fandom, I had this friend who was very into Fushigi Yuugi. This being before I had access to high speed internet, I didn't see it for myself until years later. (Which kinda tangents off into this thing of how I functionally have nostalgia for a show that only exists in my own head, but that's not the point.) It was... disappointing to say the least.

But a solid decade later, and I still can't stop thinking of how frustratingly attractive Nuriko is. "Frustrating" because HO BOY is this not a good depiction of an LGBT individual. Not that I really expect much from 90's anime, but it's got such a bad case of conflating gay men and trans women, mixed in with this awkward dash of "just needed to meet the right girl" at the end, that I legitimately don't know whether to consider this character male or female.

And that ambiguity is kinda... hot? What even is my brain.

(secret) it makes it really hard for me to get into new series if they end on a cliffhanger and then the viewers are kept in limbo for WEEKS, or in this case, nearly months, without any news about whether it's cancelled or not.
