Never heard that reason before, but good for you.
The rule is to get straight back on when you fall off because if you wait you give yourself time to overthink it.

I've had to teach people who wanted to ride a certain way for the look of it before, and it hasn't been the easiest time. It takes more time and energy to learn how to ride bareback, for instance.
