Yeah, this. I have all sorts of books, from ones I adore and reread regularly, to ones I bought out of curiosity and absolutely hated, to ones I have no idea how I acquired or what they're about. I used to do a thing where I'd go to the local secondhand bookshops and buy a handful of anything that looked interesting when I had a bit of spare cash. (I do still do this, but a lot less regularly). Usually three or four books at a time for around seven or eight euros. I have some utter shite because of that, and some guilty pleasures, and some odd stuff I never got around to reading either. And some gems that I'd never have found otherwise.

You don't have to love every book you own. Though if you'd prefer to only spend money on stuff you actually do love, then trying stuff out in libraries first is probably a better plan than mine (I do also do this, but secondhand treasure hauls seem more fun).
