The trope is annoying given the way it plays into the Ugly Duckling stereotype.

But...it’s not uncommon to share standard clothing sizes? That’s why they’re standard — a piece may not flatter a body, or a skin tone, but they are generally wearable. I shared with my mom and sis both; my BFFs and I could borrow clothing from each other.

And as for forgetting what’s in one’s closet...happens to me all the time? Sad, but there you go.

I forget a lot of shit in my closet too. I’d only understand this response if someone had a small stack. Otherwise yay for poor memory.
