I'm with you! I mean, okay, I'm super biased. It does the super FFX nostalgia and moving on themes fairly well. (Unless you get the 100% complete stuff and then go do Last Mission.)

A point I can agree with is that if you DO the game for the 100% completion, then yeah, it can't take itself seriously for five minutes. If you do the hard core stuff like getting Rin on the high road and getting Gippal's sphere and really pay attention to the interactions of the girls, yeah it gets pretty deep. And you end up with Spira worse off than after Sin with all those big holes in the ground. Otherwise, no, it's silliness. I wish they'd gone the "harder" and "more serious" route for the 100% instead of some of the weird choices they made. (Seriously, we're going to blame Rikku or the Chocobo Eater instead of Rin? I left off there last time, so you can see it bugs me.)

But err... that's what I had mounds of fanfic for.
