I can agree with that. I generally have a hard time with fiction podcasts that don't rest on some narrative conceit, though. (A radio station, archival recordings, recording therapy sessions, etc.)

I don't like "real" crying scenes either, but more because I just feel so horrible for the person crying. Even if they are a crap person or flat out villain, I cannot stand people crying, it hurts my heart a lot.

There are a lot of things I think some fans missed just because they didn't like the idea of it. I hate Snape, but it was clear that he was a spy for Dumbledore and pretty clear in book 6 that Dumbledore wanted to be killed and that Snape would turn out to be a good guy in the end (still an abusive teacher, though). I also hate Ron/Hermione, but if you didn't realize it was going to be canon after book 4, I'm not sure what books you were reading.

I read and loved the book Anthony Bourdain wrote eighteen years ago. But since I don't like travel or food shows, it never occurred to me to watch his show so I'm not sure I can consider myself a fan. So then why do I feel so irrationally guilty about never having tweeted him asking how he was feeling? It's not like that would have made the slightest bit of difference anyway.
