Ngl, as a kid who saw these movies and had no context as what a Maia was etc, I thought these movies were great and scenes like this were amazing. And I think they serve their purpose. Later on, when I read the books, I was in for an even bigger treat because of all the things the movie skipped or didn't do right. Did I wish the movies were different then? Yes, but for most of the mainstream audience who never read/ will read the books, the movies were good enough. And I always try to keep in mind that while movies based off of books (with large fandoms already) try to pay homage to the OG fans and source material, they're still trying to make a kill8ng at the box office.

But I completely understand you. I used to bring my HP books to the theater as if i could point out inaccuracies while watching the films.
