I don't comment on many, but I read them all, even if I don't know the fandom.
I've got many secrets of my own, but I've never made one before, or uploaded it. I'm scared to try; and get it wrong :(

Aw, sorry, OP! Wasn't meaning to make you feel dogpiled -- just trying to remind/encourage you that because you have several layers of anonymity here, even if someone misinterprets or disagrees with your secret, it doesn't matter. No one knows you.

It's true that we have anonymity here, but for me, that doesn't make it all OK. I hate when other anons make me feel shitty for having the opinions I have -- and they don't always do it intentionally, I'm sure. If someone's just being an idiot, fine, but someone with an intelligent argument can make me feel like a dolt because I suck at debate. So I don't comment very much (or make many secrets).

Huh? Neither of the two comments above were yelling at all, much less yelling at you. I get that it's harder to convey or interpret the correct tone in the written medium, but I think it's a big stretch to construe any of the comments in this thread as "yelling" or even criticism.

But you're right, if comments like that bother you, then you definitely shouldn't open yourself to potential differences of opinion or arguments here. You always have the option of submitting secrets and not reading the comments, though. I remember one or two anons saying that's how they do it.

I'm not trying to project the OP as thin-skinned and anxious(as that's definitely a me thing), but a lot of the people here can be very passive aggressive and abrasive for the tiniest of reasons sometimes. Maybe people don't want to risk being snarked at or judged. So they may only comment on secrets for fandoms they're familiar with, or point of views they have opinions on. Again, probably just talking about myself.

I've only made one secret and I made it general enough to apply to any fandom. If you want more comments, do it that way :) but either way, if it's fun making the secrets, just keep doing it -- you're not hurting anything. And maybe another fan will see your obscure/dead fandom secret and think OMG I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE A SECRET ABOUT THAT FANDOM, I LOVE IT! Ya never know.

I've only posted three secrets before, and they were only about things I felt so strongly about that I just really wanted to throw my opinion into the anonymous void. Even though I knew I wouldn't generate much discussion from them. And I'm pretty sure all of them were posted sometime from 2011-2012, so it's been a while since I had anything that I thought was worth sharing. But I'm really not good at interacting with fandom if I feel like I've got nothing to say, so I admire people like you who contribute to keep places like fandomsecrets alive!

My secrets never get comments because I tend to upload my actual crazy thoughts that really should be secrets because of how crazy I know I'm coming across.......... as compared to most secrets that are like "This is such an unpopular opinion that I can't tell anyone!!!!" except it's not an unpopular opinion at all.

I often prefer when people post troll secrets because at least they're expressing a genuinely unpopular opinion.
