For me, I think it's a 40K problem - the problem is specifically that the Imperium is written in a totally bad way on a lot of different levels. I can imagine liking single-culture-ish humans in settings. 40K just really, really, really, really isn't one of them.

God, 40K is so much more boring than it needs to be.

Sometimes the characters and events we only hear about and never see are the most tantalizing, OP. I agree with you about Willas, though... mostly because I think Sansa's life could've been so different if she'd married him.

Yeah...I'm glad that temptation is very low for me. Theatres around here mostly show 3D movies, and those are so not my thing. So it's dvd or Netflix for me in any case.

I get why Reid is the fandom darling, but he was never mine. I only gave him a bit of attention because in the first scene I saw him (somewhere around season four was when I skipped into the show) he reminded me briefly of Cillian Murphy. The cheekbones, right?

It actually kind of makes sense to me? Like, I don't think that there are any other characters from LotR that are any better suited for a spinoff. So if they want to make a series based on an existing character, he's probably as good a choice as any (IMO).

And if they don't want to do that, their options are (a) make up a new character, who would probably suck or (b) use legendarium characters and stories, which they're realistically never in a million years going to do, and which I don't think they would execute successfully even if they did it. (I also personally feel that legendarium stuff would be less interesting than Aragorn stuff, but I accept that's just my feeling and other people are more into the legendarium stuff than I am)

And, I don't know, I just feel like there's a lot of interesting stuff you can do in the setting with Young Aragorn. There's potential there, if they really execute on the world-building and aesthetic and atmosphere.
