I don't know, I've read some fic of this type, but it doesn't usually click for me. I do sometimes like fic where Character B (played by Actor A) shows up in the fandom of Character C (also played by Actor A) and B and C don't get together, but rather they make friends or are long-lost siblings or something like that.
