Whenever cheating is mentioned online people act like the op personally cheated on them. Calm down guys - I am anti cheating, have never done it, and it would probably be a deal breaker for me (I could maaaaybe forgive a one night stand in some circumstances but not an affair) - but the vitriol to randos online about it is pretty ott.

Also I only kink on fictional cheating when it’s a woman cheating on her husband with another woman. Idk why.

I have never met a cheater who's a decent person.

I'm sorry, but they haven't been, and the fact is they all try to rationalize it in some way or think it's NBD.

NAYRT

Well I've met several. I find it really interesting that something that a person does once and usually regrets a lot, defines them for the rest of their lives to so many of you.

NAYRT—I can’t think of much that’s a bigger betrayal of a romantic relationship and the trust required for it than cheating, though. Stuff like compulsive high stakes gambling or drug addiction comes close and stuff like being a rapist or serial killer or into kiddie porn exceed it, but none of those things, as horrific as murder and rape and child porn are, convey quite the same mix of “they’re not some kind of horrible monster and they don’t have heavy duty impulse control issues otherwise, so maybe the problem is they like this other person more because they’re not attracted to me after all.”
