I don't think it's correct to require the existence of rumors or multiple victims before you believe allegations. That does not seem like a good standard, to me. It seems to me that, most likely, abusive people can operate in different ways.
I'm also not sure what her adultery would have to do with whether or not she's a victim. People who do bad things can still be victims, and committing adultery doesn't justify abuse.
That's how I see it, anyway, but what the heck do I know.

Her cheating doesn't justify abuse, but it does make me less inclined to trust anything that she says bc she's demonstrably shown herself to be an untrustworthy liar.
