I had trouble with him, too, early on, though I got used to it as the show went on. I'm honestly not sure if the big problem with following him was his accent, or the patois, which is very different than any dialect I usually deal with.

(On that note, I'm mildly disappointed that the patois was translated to standard English, and not just subtitled.)

The translation of the patois was really irritating! I didn't have a big problem understanding him, but we always watch with subtitles, and it's jarring when it doesn't match.
