One of my very best friends for the past two decades is marrying this summer. She knows full well my personal style is jeans and a t-shirt. Yet, she would be completely justified in being shocked and offended if I showed up at her wedding wearing such an outfit, since it will be a costly event hosted at a formal venue attended by her extended family and professional colleagues. But I never would, because I have enough common sense not to wear something like that to a gosh darn wedding. Fuck her "taste in clothes." She wasn't going to a nightclub and she damn well knew it.
