That's weird, but you do you. For me, Thanos took up too much screen time - they spent so much time showing us how many feelings he has and how sorry he supposedly is that he "has" to kill Gomorra, but it never really added up to anything. His "love" for her is random (why her, when he's so terribly cruel to Nebula), his motivation - totally unclear. Is he seeing himself as a saviour of humanity? If yes, than we needed a bit more about the glory of the "perfect" future or him feeling connected to somebody except Gomorra/anybody really, or something about him caring about people or the conditions they live in...well, SOMETHING. because what we got was mostly like - I want to destroy half the world, because I think it's a good idea, because once I had this idea on my own planet and nobody accepted it and everybody (?) died. So it seems like he's doing it just to prove that the dead people from his home planet were wrong to refuse his plan, which is rather crazy, but treated as some sort of logical option that merits his resolve and "sacrifice" of Gomorra, when in fact it's as riddiculous as "I do it to get Death to date me".
