What was your favorite part about school?

Whichever levels!

Honestly, my biggest problem being that I procrastinated on my midterm paper. I had no idea how easy that was compared to the adult world.

Learning about a lot of random things.

Useless things, yes. But still fun and random.

Oh yeah, and the important stuff too.

I had friends. Or at least the illusion of it.

Yep.

Also I had my health - and it was pretty cool going to the girls' half of Tolkien's school.

How often I got to see my friends. Everyone is busy being an adult now so it's harder to get together.

This. I see my best friend maybe once every two months and my other friends even less. It's hard when everybody has kids.

Learning and friends. And not just learning and friends, but the existence of an entire atmosphere and structure and environment built around learning.

Learning stuff. I really miss going to school and learning things. I wish I could go back to college for something.

Also, researching and writing papers.

Honestly, if I was infinitely wealthy, being an eternal student is definitely one of the major things that I'd do.

There's a lot of free options out there, like Coursera, Skillshare, etc.

Depends on what you want to learn tbh.

I still learn, I go to the library and learn stuff online too, and frankly I prefer that to school. I've never been beaten up online or had abusive bullshit screamed at me in a library.

It's all about you. Something no high school kid really comprehends, probably, certainly not me. Roof over your head, no or minimal bills to pay, don't have to worry about living paycheck to paycheck.. and you spend all your day learning, cultivating your talents, and hanging out with peers. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to dream and not know what you're life plan is yet. You're young and you have everything ahead of you.

Not that I miss high school, to be clear. But I had a good group of friends, I had extra circulars I enjoyed, I was a good student and I enjoyed learning.

Uh... that it's over?

I liked the relative freedom and independence of college, and being able to exercise more control over my own schedule. But mostly I'm just glad it's over.

Learning new things, discovering classic stories and writers, the enthusiasm many of my teachers had for the subjects they taught, the creativity of some of our school projects.

I also loved the fun days we had at my school where, on the last day before some sort of holiday break, we'd finish up our work that morning, and then spend the afternoon just chilling and watching a movie in class while having snacks, or playing games or something of that sort :D.
