If you haven't already, I'd recommend trying out "Masterchef Junior". Unlike its adult predecessor, the kids are all so supportive of each other, and the judges mix both compliments and gentle critique.

I just got into "The Great British Bake Off" (screw you, Pillsbury), myself, and it's been the last straw that ruined a lot of the more obnoxious cooking/baking shows for me, too. Though I haven't got to the newer seasons yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that I still enjoy it when I get there!
