Seeing mediocre adaptations of things that you love can be frustrating even if you don't watch them, though? Especially because it usually means that the chances of another, possibly better adaptation being made are then greatly decreased.

NAYRT—Like the Tom Cruise Mummy movie “proving” that rebooting the Universal Monsters was a waste of time, rather than that shitty Tom Cruise movies are a waste of time? Don’t mind me, I just harbored a tiny hope for a Guillermo del Toro helmed Phantom of the Opera and am angry that instead someone thought Tom Cruise+ “Generic Hot Model” Mummy was a good idea.

nayrt but exactly! I was really disappointed to hear they were going to go that route with the reboot of the Universal Monsters line. It's a great concept and I was excited to see what came of it... but all their attempts so far have been underwhelming to say the least. It's going to really derail the whole concept, if not sink it altogether.
