Jeez, how pale are the OTHER characters if this chick is considered dark-skinned?

I mean, I'm all with you for letting people think someone is whatever ethnicity they want (if the setting allows for it, like I'm gonna side eye someone calling a character white when the setting is very obviously Japan, etc), but I would have assumed this woman was hella white.

They're hella pale, anon. I think she's the only character on the whole show who doesn't have pale skin.

Right!? I was so confused when I read this. Even checked the colors on my monitor. She's paler than me, and they call me Marshmallow.

She's more obviously tan-skinned in other versions of Sailor Moon, even when she's not standing next to other characters for comparison. Crystal seems to have made everything paler. (Whole lotta brunette characters suddenly blonde.)

This is how she is drawn in the manga compared to the other characters. For the life of me I can’t figure out why they color her so pale in official media when that is how she looks in the black and white.
