There's a kotorslash community on LJ. I've seen some good ones on there, and posted a few (of dubious quality).

I love 2, actually. I'm in the minority, but I really like how it contrasts with the first game. 1 is epic and fun; 2 is personal, intimate, and ultimately no galaxies are saved or armies thwarted, but you learn some pretty dark things about the force. I just wish Lucas-arts hadn't gotten greedy and pushed for that early release. Maybe one day they'll pull a 'Lost Chapters' and release the completed game.

I know that there's a patch to restore the lost content in the works by Team Gizka. I checked to see how far along it was when I started playing a couple months ago. Sadly, it's still not done. But they're getting there!

Lost content?

I liked 2, I thought the story was better... I was quite happy with it until Carth came looking for Revan they had to go and destroy my KOTORI ship, didn't they?

The game was cut seriously short because Lucas arts pushed Obsidian for an early release. I found the team gizka project here (http://www.team-gizka.org/).

Gah. I mean, it's nice to get a game earlier than expected, but to sacrifice the story for it? Not so good.

Apparently they had to cut a lot of stuff that didn't get finished in time for the rushed deadline. And so far, I agree--I haven't actually finished the game yet myself.

Darn them for rushing deadlines. We're more interested in the story and the content, rather than an earlier release date.. guess we must be in the minority.

All this KOTOR talk on F!S recently has me wanting to replay the games ... must be about a year since I last played -_-

I think I've heard of that. I'm not surprised it's taking them a while, they'd have to add a whole level (an HK factory) and an actual ending. I know I heard some cut dialogue ages ago, I think it involved Sion torturing Atton.

Yeah, I haven't actually finished the game myself (just got to Onderon proper), but I'm kind of dreading doing so knowing how much was lost.

Sorry, I won't spoil you then! Some of it's pretty noticeable, but the game is still really, really good. And I loved Onderon, for some reason.

Okay, so I didn't know there was any lost content when I played it through, and it still took me long enough and there's still plenty of story and content there for you to get your teeth into. I guess it's cos you knew before playing that there could have been more and that makes a difference... the only thing I felt was that you're in the early levels for ages before you get anywhere, and everywhere else feels a bit short in comparison.

I also liked 2, perhaps more than 1. More depth to the story, imo. Kotor 1 was all LOLIMSUPER while kotor 2 was mostly about a reluctant hero who was reluctant all the way to the end. But I guess most people would prefer to be the ultimate powah than the realistic, flawed runaway.

What we're down to-> Amnesiatic Marty-Stu versus Defecter Mary-Sue.

Team Gizka is working on Restoring most of the cut content, but I think they're still a few months off from release. Either way, I'm excited and patiently waiting for it.

IMO- Mods make games better... always.

There are, if you're willing to search for a long while on fanfiction.net with some semi-specific search terms.

I don't get why people dislike kotor 2. It could be that a lot of content was cut so that LucasArts can fill their greedy, girly purses, and so most people are unhappy with it as it is. Bleh.
