121. He's supposed to be cruel. It's part of Ten as a character, as this specific aspect of the Doctor (and from what little I know of the original Who, he's always been just a little cruel-to-be-kind to his companions), and sometimes he's cruel with a larger purpose. Honestly? I think he knew exactly how Martha felt about him, but he just didn't feel the same; what use, then, in bringing attention to it? As for Donna, her fate was cruel, but Ten did it to save her life. Between Ten and Fate, Ten was the kinder in that situation.


122. Indeed, the Weasleys aren't perfect, but what family is? Every family is dysfunctional on some level. There is no perfect family.

Between Ten and Fate, Ten was the kinder in that situation.

That's definitely a matter of opinion, given that there are plenty of us who think that was, hands-down, the WORST thing Ten's ever done.
