I'm afraid to try the internal stuff too, but I still keep myself happy using what's on the outside. Seriously, as everyone else said, you have a clitoris. It's made of the same stuff as a penis, you know, just most of it is inside your body.

I know exactly what you mean about being squicked by internal stuff. Nothing has ever been inside my vagina - I don't even like to use tampons, for cripes' sake - but I make myself come all the time just by using external pressure. It can be done!

I love internal stuff, but it took me about a solid year of external masturbation and self-exploration to get to that point. Masturbation, like most things, takes practice before you get it right, or the way you want it - it took me 18 years to figure out how to orgasm, and even then, I wasn't sure I'd actually had one the first time I did it. You don't have to do anything you don't want to. In fact, the point of masturbation is rather against that. Start with external stuff (and a bottle of lube - get it everywhere, and if the touching bothers you too much try using a condom over your hand or a latex glove) and see what works for you.

Your vagina is no weirder or scarier or more wrong than a penis is. In fact, neither of them are weird or scary or wrong at all, and I find it incredibly sad that you've been made to feel this way. I hope you can grow beyond it, and feel more comfortable with your body and your sexual desires.

Vaginas are beautiful. Really, they are. The people who tell you otherwise . . . aren't lesbians, or straight men, or even straight women like me who're glad they have vaginas, and whose vaginas have been good to them.

Good luck with your self-exploration! You are a beautiful, sensual person, and your sexuality is valid no matter what is between your legs. Don't let anyone - including yourself - tell you otherwise.

Adding on to what has already been said here, you can get jiggy with yourself without even touching your genitals directly - many women can get interesting results by squeezing their groin muscles (and sometimes thighs), playing with their nipples, and/or general vibration.

Having said that, while there's certainly nothing wrong with you if penetration doesn't get your rocks off - different strokes for different folks - I would encourage you to at least try it, once you've experimented with the things you think you might be comfortable with. You might find that you do like it after all, and if you really don't, then at least you know that about yourself for sure (and before a partner of yours tries to go there, which could be traumatic for both of you if you really, really don't like it).
