You can drive someone to suicide via non supernatural means.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Is anyone alleging that?

(Anonymous) 2018-07-23 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
OP suggests witchcraft is the only way she could have done it sooo

(Anonymous) 2018-07-23 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Uh no, the secret doesn't say that at all. Did you actually read it?

This might be the strangest thing I've read today.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Out if context, it's pretty funny.

No, you can't "drive someone to suicide".
I don't care what someone does to another. If someone suicides, it is 100% that person's choice.
It's crap like 13 Reasons Why that make others feel tremendous guilt and shame after someone has suicided.
Even if someone is abusive to another, it may be a factor in the suicide.
But it is still the choice of the person who suicided to take their life and no one else's. We can't take responsibility over what another does with their own life.

I'm sorry, I think you can.

I think that you can abuse or harass or harangue or gaslight someone else into committing suicide. I believe that girl in Massachusetts who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter did.

Thank you! My mother does this to me every week.

You mean the one whose boyfriend who called her when he changed his mind about killing himself mid-attempt and she told him to stop being a pussy and finish what he started? You’re being rather ingenious by trying to draw a similarity between these situations.

ayrt

I'm just replying to the above commenter who seems to believe that there's no way abuse, harassment, or bullying can drive someone to suicide. I believe it can be done. I think sustained abuse or harassment can definitely take a toll and be the deciding factor. And I think that someone treated similarly to the girl in 13 Reasons Why could be counted as someone who was driven to it. I don't know anything about the relationship between Bourdain and Argento, so I suppose it is possible, but I doubt this was the case.

Well, I think the people blaming her were nuts to start out with. You only come up with that idea if you already believe a bunch of nutbar fringe conspiracy beliefs anyway.

(I recognize that the purpose of this secret is probably the burn, and it's a good burn, but kind of unnecessary)

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I think her breaking up/cheating on him contributed to his suicide, but she didn't *cause* him to do it like that girl that told her boyfriend to get back in the car that was filled with carbon monoxide, and was convicted of it.

If anything, he was using the break-up as an excuse not to go on anymore, which in retrospect is obviously what he wanted to do for a very long time.

But this whole blame thing? Supposedly Tony's estranged wife was following an Instagram account or something like that which put the blame on Asia. And some insane bitch wrote the most insane essay about her, which might even be totally true for all I know, but it still came across as insane and inappropriate.

"Supposedly Tony's estranged wife was following an Instagram account or something like that which put the blame on Asia. "

LOL, what? I hadn't heard that but honestly, I'd always wondered how she felt being replaced with a younger woman who bore a pretty strong resemblance to herself...

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah it was called Justice for Tony or something like that and it quickly got deleted.

From the articles I read I got the sense that Ottavia was divorcing him, not the other way around - that basically he was never around and she wanted someone who would be. But, oh yeah, he really had a type.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
IIRC the announcement seemed to go out of its way to stress that it was a mutual decision, but mentioned his work schedule that kept him away from home most of the time - sort of the same thing that broke up his first marriage.

If it was a mutual decision, what's behind all of this ghoulish speculative nonsense

Re: NAYRT

(Anonymous) 2018-07-22 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I was saying above that it appeared that even Ottavia was on the blame-Asia bandwagon for Tony's suicide, not for the divorce.

What ghoulish speculative nonsense are you referring to? Because I'm saying the split from his second wife sounded mutual. I have no idea about the rumors about Argento and her possible cheating or anything else.

Suicide is one of the top health risks for men struggling with mental health issues, which is something that he built part of his brand on.

My suggestion is that issues with his ongoing recovery may have been a factor in the breakup.

Asia Argento was one of the Weinstein accusers but then went on to have a relationship with Weinstein so people are now enjoying her being "punished". It's horrible.

I think he just got caught up in having a younger, "sexier" girlfriend. I feel like he realized that he fucked up his previous marriages.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-23 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
I feel like he realized that he fucked up his two previous marriages. I think he just wanted a younger, "sexier" girlfriend instead of a wife close to his own age.

(Anonymous) 2018-07-23 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. He hasn't had a wife his own age since his first marriage, though.
