I didn't mind him but then I'm also not a diehard Les Mis fan. I even liked "Stars" quite a bit, but that was all because of the instrumentation, no thanks to Crowe.

I'm not a diehard fan, either, but once you've heard Philip Quast or Roger Allam or almost anyone who played Javert on an actual stage...hearing Russell Crowe mangle those beautiful songs hurts in more ways than one.
