I wanted to laugh at Russel Crowe, but was concerned about if OP would think I'm directing their laughter at them so I tried to clarify that I'm only laughing at how Russel Crowe, the person of immense shit-itude who beat an innocent person on the head with the corner of a phone, doesn't even have the emotional capacity to understand a character who felt bad about doing something wrong.

Wow, I did not know Crowe was such an asshole. Now I understand why he failed to get a character like Javert. Javert would never do such a thing.

He didn't even deserve to play such a beautifully complex character in the first place, he acted badly and sang even worse. Also, he is a jerk and I don't find it surprising at all that he couldn't understand Javert. Javert realized how many wrongs he has done by trying to do the right thing, believing he was doing the right thing...it all fell apart and he had no choice but to kill himself. How's that hard to understand? What a jerk.
