The first time I attempted yeasted bread that wasn’t flatbread of some sort, the loaves came out as bland, floury bricks. One time I made my go-to crustless quiche recipe with pecorino romano cheese, which is very, very salty, without adjusting the salt in the recipe. The quiche tasted like a salt lick. Overcooked pasta is digusting. And once I ruined the finish on a Le Creuset pan while attempting to make sesame halvah—it set in the pan like sesame cement.
