Are they? Because from what I've seen, they're treating Shiro as a stepping stone for bi Lance, and think that Shiro will help Lance realize his sexuality, and that Lance and Keith will get together, so they're actually pretty happy about it.

Even Lance's VA saying that bi Lance is not canon didn't stop them.

Not in this fandom and I've never seen the show, but I refuse to take anything a voice actor says as canon. Voice actors are not writers, just performers. If voice actors get a say, then Vic Mignogna's crap he's said about Edward Elric is also canon.

ooooo, as an FMA fan but also someone who loves drama, do tell

Well, in addition to his typical anti-gay streak where he declared many times that Ed only liked girls and was straight (this was in the first FMA when Ed's character didn't even have a love interest), he also said Ed wasn't an atheist and was just "mad at God". This, from the character who declares himself an atheist.

idk. I mean he's entitled to his interpretation of characters the same as any other fan, but he needs to not act like he's Word of God (lol).

Edward Elric punched God in the face and is still 100% an atheist.

Ok, but there are literally zero hints of bi Lance in the show. He flirts with girls and is in love with a girl. The people who believe bi Lance has a chance of happening completely ignore canon for their headcanons and twist the staff's words to fit whatever they want to believe.

Whether he’s bi or not is irrelevant as far as I’m concerned. Klance fans just want him to be bI so that they have a hope of him getting together with Keith instead of Allura. But I’ll be shocked if Allura/Lance doesn’t happen at this point, whether Lance is bi or not.

^^ oh, NAYRT btw.

The fact that the Voltron fandom took Shiro being gay as an excuse to prove Klance is even more canon and make it all about Lance just shows they don't give two shits about representation. Going on tumblr the day it was announced just made my blood boil, half the fucking tag was about fucking Lance.

The producers have also said that klance is not happening and the fandom is still convinced that they're lying to keep it a surprise and that Jeremy Shada is sending them secret messages conforming it. They've even invented a meme about it.

oh man is this like the crazy johnlock people?

are we gonna get wild conspiracies on how the last season isn't actually the end and there's a secret hidden season that will confirm their tru wuv?

(Anonymous) 2018-07-30 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
We can only hope!

(Hey, it would be nice for a fandom I've never been involved in to attain that level of crazy-pants for a change.)

Eh, I'm more likely to consider a statement from a VA in a US show as canon over the words of someone who voices characters for anime -- Lance's VA has likely had actual contact with the writers and creators of the show, whereas Vic Mignogna probably hasn't even read the manga that's the basis for shows he's working on much less spoken to the author (I don't know what he's said about Ed but I remember much eyerolling in Clamp fandom when he called Fai from Tsubasa Chronicle straight, like seriously Vic the only thing straight in a Clamo manga is the lines).
