I think that publicity was actually the point.

There was a bet between Pratt and Evans and then the other would have to show up in costume at a hospital in the other's city and I think at the end they both showed up at both. But the whole point of them publicizing the bet and the outcome was to get people to pay attention and maybe donate, which is often times why celebrities do publicize things. Yes, some do it only for their personal PR, but a lot of times putting a celebrity near a cause or charity gets people to donate and celebrities know this. I can't see that as a bad thing.
